Mission: Collect Backpacks/School Supplies = Accomplished

We have all 36 backpacks with clothing items and school supplies for the kids from Moldova to help them get started on the new school year. Thanks to all that donated! They will be shipped out tomorrow. We missed the kids and we will continue to pray for them every Tuesday at 7 pm.

We're collecting pack packs and school supplies for the kids from Moldova. So far we have 20, we need to collect 36. We had 2 people pledge 5 more bags on Sunday, that will bring us to 25. The deadline is very short because we want to ship them out this Saturday, August 14, so hurry!

Clothing Donations

The kids that we worked with this summer have many needs and some of them are basic ones, like clothes and shoes. As they are starting a new school year, they need also book bags. We're planning to send clothes and shoes to Romania this week, so if you're interested in donating any items contact us. Along with the clothes we want to send a video message reminding them that they are not forgotten, that we're praying and thinking about them.

Tuesday Prayer Group

Our mission for 2010 is accomplished, but the kids will not be forgotten. We're starting a mission prayer group on Tuesday to pray for the seed that was planted, that it may grow and not die. We want to continue to pray for these kids and communicate with them via mail. We will also pray for future missions and for an awakening of the church to go outside of the church walls and make disciples. We will also pray for Wayne and Daniel that they will get accredited and will be able to function as a nonprofit. Anyone who wants to join, is welcome. We want to meet in person ones a month at church or someone's house.

Everyone is back and safe from an amazing, blessed and memorable mission trip. It's hard to find the adjectives to describe the experience. Among many, many blessing in Lepsa, we've seen God make miracles with the weather, when the prognosis was rain and flooding in all of Moldova. I want to share with everyone some of the testimonies of the team members. Their words will describe their own experience at the camp.

"Our theme for the mission this year was: "O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him." (Psalm 34:8) and we all experienced His goodness in Romania among these amazing kids, among the beautiful setting and among His people through the connections that we've made with each other. When I came back I felt an emptiness and was still longing for the joy and peace from the Lord that I felt at the camp among the kids. I would choose to do this all over again, because I found nothing in this life as fulfilling as working for the Lord, staying in His Love. I have seen the world, I've tasted the riches of this earth, but I found nothing is worth more in life than investing in someone else's life, their eternal life. This mission trip has given me another purpose to my life. I wish that the young people in our community would experience what we did in Lepsa. "Never in my wildest dreams did I expect things to work out as well as God made them work on this mission trip. From our team from Atlanta, Dan Boca and Tanti Ligia, Alina and Claudia to Ionuts, the rest of the team at Teen Ranch and the kids that we were able to meet and share the Gospel with to how the weather calmed just when we needed it. I can honestly say I have a hard time thinking of anything I would change. The feeling of being with our team and kids that week beats any other feeling I that I could've gotten from going on any vacation, a paycheck, buying the latest gadget or etc. Serving others is what we're called to do and we should all embrace that calling. I will never forget the way God worked through us on this mission trip and hope if other people get a chance to go, that they may be able to experience even a fraction of the joy we did. Our last mission fundraising lunch was a big success! The T-shirts for sale were a big hit at the luncheon. We were overwhelmed by the support and generosity of FRBCA members. What an amazing God we have, to warm the hearts of the people and respond to His commandment.

A big THANK YOU to all the youth from FRBCA that made this car wash possible. The weather was awesome, praise God. We raised $600 minus the supplies ($100) = $500.

We have our Tuesday meeting tonight. We will go over some of the car wash procedures and rules. The car wash will take place on May 22, at the gas station on Lawrenceville-Suwanee, in the Kroger shopping center.

Tuesday Meeting

Our Tuesday meeting will be as usual at 7:15 pm in the Trek room. We'll be continuing our study on "How To Know God's Will". As Christians, we are not victims of chance, God has a plan for our lives. God has a will that He wants to reveal to us.

Bring your study outline and Bibles. For those of you that need a ride please let us know a day or at least a few hours ahead and we'll provide transportation. Hope to see all of you there and please continue to pray so that we are able to raise all the money we need.

Our first fundraising event will be Sunday, March 28th in the FRBCA gym. We'll be working on a menu this week. First and foremost pray for this event. We'll need to meet this week and split up in teams and help with whatever is needed. I hope you can all attend. We need to raise $1,000 for the deposit on the house in Lepsa.

Summer Camp in Romania

We're happy to announce an amazing opportunity of organizing a summer camp in Romania for 40 orphans from Iaşi and Vaslui.

Camp Dates: 28 June -3 July
Departure date: June 20th

• The Summer camp will be for 6 days in Lepşa/Vrancea 70 kilometers from Focşani. The camp will be Christian in nature. We will have freedom to talk openly to the orphans about their relationship with Christ.

• Team members from Atlanta along with volunteers from Bucuria Orfanului will carry out day to day activities with the children and youth.

• Bucuria Orfanului will provide transportation for all of the children and youth and for all team members to and from the camp.

• While in Romania, team members from Atlanta will stay in Schitu Ducă which is 30 minutes south of Iaşi. The house they'll be staying in is a training center for Pastors throughout Romania. It will be vacant in the summer and has capacity for more than 20 people. Team members from Atlanta will be responsible for the cost of food and utilities which will be included in the total price.

• Bucuria Orfanului will provide transportation for team members to and from Schitu Ducă. Bucuria Orfanului will provide transportation to and from the airport in Iaşi. Daniel Boca, the Director of Bucuria Orfanului will accompany the team members from Atlanta during their stay. He will meet with team members and organize other events not associated with the summer camp. Some of the other events that are possible are the following:

• Outreach to shanty town in Iaşi called Dallas.
• Visit and do some activities at local Orphanages.
• Outreach in Slobozia. A Gypsy village that has many Christians and a large Church.
• Outreach to youth who live in the sewer system in Iaşi.
• Outreach with local Churches in Iaşi.
• A large picnic with Orphans with whom we work in Iaşi.
• Visit local sites in and around Iaşi.

• Upon arrival in Iaşi, Daniel Boca will have an orientation with all team members about all activities. We will provide a cell phone to the team leader from Atlanta and all contact and emergency information.

• There will be internet access in Schitu Ducă and at our office in Iaşi.

• Bucuria Orfanului will make a list of all materials and supplies that will be needed for the summer camp. Team members from Atlanta will provide materials and supplies needed and additional materials and supplies for other outreach activities.

• The camp location is in Lepsa, Vrancea at Teen Ranch. The cost for the camp is approximately $21.00 per day per person. For six days for 55 persons that would be around $6,900.00 for the entire stay. This includes 3 meals a day perpared by the staff at the camp. All activities are included in this price. Horse back riding, swimming etc. The price depends on the exchange rate in July.

Purpose of the mission trip

The main purpose of the trip is to introduce the children and youth to Christ. Many of them have not spent quality time around other Christians. Life at the Orphanage is very mundane, and this will be an opportunity to stimulate them and get them into a diffrent environment where they will be open to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Goals for the mission trip

The main goal after introducing the Gospel is to connect Christians in America with orphans in Romania. We have failed if we have a mission trip and everyone has a good time and goes home and there is no further interaction between the Christians in America and the precious orphans in and around Iaşi. They desperately need mentors and people that will continue to pray for them and communicate with them long term.
